CONCEPT:
The term central mini-hydro is widespread in England to designate the hydroelectric power of less than 10 MW. This limit is typically used internationally as the boundary of separation between small and large hydro. The first, due to its low environmental impact, are considered key sources; the second, although they use a renewable resource, non-negligible effect on the environment, so their classification as a renewable power is problematic.
